Digital print media
Introduction
On demand, short run digital color printing has become a major influence
in the printing industry in recent years. Whether ink jet, electrostatic or
direct laser technology, a whole spectrum of new printers has developed,
allowing new opportunities in the sign, photographic, labeling, advertising and
desktop publishing industries. These printers and presses print directly from
digital data therefore avoiding plates and films, offering advantages of short
runs, minimal set up times and greater cost effectiveness.
Hanita offers a wide range of plastic substrates optimized for printing by
digital presses. This optimization includes chemical coatings for ink or toner
anchorage to the substrate, and thermal stabilization to prevent shrinkage,
curling or distortion of the film during the print process.
Why use plastic substrates?
Synthetic media is costly in comparison to paper, so it is used in applications where one or more of the following characteristics of synthetics is required: water resistance, solvent resistance, tear resistance, heat resistance and optical clarity. In other words, when durability is the requirement, plastic is the choice.
Hanita's range of digital print media is categorized according to print
technology, since each print system requires specific optimization.
