Tomark and Hanita Sign PV Backsheet Venture Agreement

(Hanita, Israel, 10 January 2010) Hanita Coatings, a leading manufacturer of solar control films, and Tomark Industries,specialists in the field of photovoltaics (PV), agreed yesterday on launching a mutual cooperation program. Under the terms disclosed, Tomark is to support Hanita's PV backsheet product development with professional and technical consultancy, and is later to act as sole agent for the global distribution of Hanita backsheet products.
"Tomark is a recognized authority in the field of PV," comments Oved Shapira, CEO of Hanita Coatings, "and we see them as the ideal mentor for our photovoltaic backsheet development." Tomark's President, Robert F Davis, explains the synergy between the companies. "The combination of Hanita's high quality reputation and product innovation capability together with Tomark's extensive background in packaging solutions for the PV market will allow this new team to service the industry as a significant supplier."
Initial product offerings are based on PVDF films, which have proven performance in c-Si modules. "Hanita has a growing portfolio of sustainable solutions for energy
conservation," adds Oved, "ranging from cleantech insulation to energy efficient glazing materials. The development of these films for c-Si PV modules perfectly
complements our strategy to become a leading contributor to sustainable energy solutions."
