RFID Introduction
What is RFID?
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is an electronic tagging technology that allows remote, automatic identification without direct line of sight,
employing an exchange of electromagnetic information between readers and tags. The RFID tag consists of a polymeric or paper substrate with a microchip and metallic antenna, generally produced by either complex etching processes, or by the printing of antennas using conductive ink.
Hanita Coatings and RFID
Hanita offers two different product lines to the RFID market:
- Pure Copper Antennas
Hanita Coatings has developed a process for the manufacture of RFID antennas, using specialized production processes that ensure a low cost, high quality RFID antenna. Hanita’s antennas are developed in cooperation with the leading players in the field of RFID, to meet the needs of tag inlay producers worldwide.
- Print substrates optimized for printing by conductive inks
One of Hanita’s core competencies is the formulation of topcoats and primers for outstanding print quality and ink anchorage; another is the optimization of the mechanical qualities of polyester films. Building on this knowledge, Hanita has developed a new line of print substrates specifically to enhance the performance and adhesion of conductive inks used in the printing of RFID antennas, and to provide increased tag flexibility and durability.
